Meatballs anyone?

I love frozen meatballs and Harmons has some on sale for 2.99 and in Smart Source from 12/7 there is a .50 off coupon.
I'm a bit confused about some of Grocery Smarts deals:
Harmons: Keebler Crackers, any 8 oz. or larger $1/2 (2-8-09) RP-12/14. I can't find that coupon in RP. Anyone else?
Albertsons: Nestlé Toll House Refrigerated Cookie Dough, any $1/1 (3-1-09) RP-12/7. Same thing here. Am I just being special?

Toilet Paper Tantrum

I'm frustrated that Charmin, Bounty and Cottonelle give cheapy coupons. Saving $0.25 isn't exactly a great deal. So for those of you who have been able to use these coupons well, please share. Is it best to get the smallest pkg? Which stores tend to have the best prices on these products in general? Wal-Mart normal pricing? or Albertson's/Walgreen's sales? (sigh) Too bad you can't live hygeinically correct without toilet paper - 'cause it's a pain.

50 Cent Dawn

This week at Walgreens Dawn dish liquid is on sale for 99 cents and with the P&G coupon from 12/14 that brings it down to 50 cents each.

HOt Chocolate drinkers

Wanna add some flair to your Hot Chocolate?? All of the winter flavors of Coffe Mate liquid are $1.50 and with the dollar off coupon they are .50 cents. I stocked up last year and ended up with 20 bottles and gave ton away. I think the flavors are Peppermint Mocha, eggnog, pumpkin spice and gingerbread. They are sooo good in Hot Chocolate.

GrocerySmarts Passport

Does anyone have the passport code? It was given to me once, but I lost it. Maybe I need a few classes in organization . . .

Dryel Products

For those of you whose husbands have to wear a suit and tie every day, you have a lot of dry cleaning. (Or perhaps you prefer a higher quality of clothes yourself which also equals dry cleaning.) Dryel is an at-home dry cleaning product that has saved me a ton of money over the years. I take my husband's slacks and suits in for professionals to do it only about once a year because of this new system. There's an online coupon at boodle.com for either the Dryel starter kit or the refill pkgs. Each is about $10 and the coupon will save you $3. The starter kit (if I remember correctly) will clean 16 garments and the refill will clean 24. It's not perfect, but like I said, it saves a lot of money and keeps you out of the dry cleaners a WHOLE lot more often.

Cheesy Deal

I know most of you are out of town. And the sale ends Saturday night. But Harmons has a great deal on 2 lbs of Tillamook cheese. $4.99. You can price match at Wal-Mart if you wish, but you can only get medium cheddar, colby jack (which I couldn't find), and one other kind that I can't remember at the moment. I stocked up. I plan to grate it and freeze for later.

Wal-Mart Batteries

I haven't yet compared this with "the list" of good/bad prices. But I feel it's a good deal: Wal-Mart AA batteries 8 pk. are $5.50. Use your $0.75 off coupon and each battery is $0.59. Not too shabby.

Milk at Walmart

Maybe you all know this already (I tend to notice thing late...), but a gallon of Milk at Walmart was $1.78 today! Good price!

Batteries at RiteAid

The battery deal at RiteAid this week is not too shab. If you purchase $20 (before coupons) worth of Duracell batteries, there is a $10 rebate. Plus, there are store coupons and manufacturer's coupons from this past Sunday's paper that bring the price down even more. Also, if you're interested in the P&G extra coupon book, Duracell batteries count towards earning that. (By the way, I called P&G today and the $50 of product purchases do not have to be on the same receipt, just all receipts have to be included with the mail-in form).

So here's how I worked it this morning that I'm pretty proud of:
1. I transferred a random prescription to RiteAid and got a $30 gift card for the purchase. Cost: $4 of flex spending money for the prescription
2. I purchased an 8-pack of C batteries, one 4-pack of C batteries, and a pack of Pampers diapers, all P&G products. I used manufacturer's coupons from this past Sunday and store coupons which knocked the price down by $6.50. Total due: $27.45
3. I filled out the mail-in rebate online (because I'll need the receipt for P&G) to get $10 back.
4. I used the gift card to pay for everything and have a few dollars remaining.
5. Actual money from bank account spent: $0
6. Credit towards special coupon book: $30-something, $20-something to go
7. Joy of saving money: priceless

Elves

O.k. I'm totally embarrassed for those of you who saw that elf video...
I had done it on their site and uploaded it to blogger but apparently it posted on here and not my own site... oops
How's everyone's holiday coupon shopping going?

Albertsons Butcher Block

The husband of one of the gals I work with is a manager at the Albertsons by the mall. I told her about all the chicken I got last week and she asked which one I got it from. She said that the Albertsons on Bluff is always getting in trouble for not taking proper care of their meat! YIKES! I'm going to the one on Sunset from now on.

$25 gift cards at Walgreens for transferring prescriptions

Keri filled me in on the following (the link says it expires Nov 22nd, however, Keri was able to get her cards just a few days ago and said the offer doesn't expire until 2/15/09):

I don't know if you've heard about this yet, but Walgreens has a promotion going on now where if you transfer a prescription, they'll give you a $25 gift card. You can do as many as you want. I even picked up 3 together the other day. The coupon says one per customer, per transaction. Anyway, I got $75 worth of Walgreens gift cards just for transferring. There is not an obligation to keep them there or anything, so if it's worth it to you, transfer your prescriptions. Here is the link for the coupon!http://walgreens.shoplocal.com/walgreens/Default.aspx?action=browsepagedetail&storeid=2431469&rapid=622043&pagenumber=1&listingid=-2090737626

I Promise I'm Not a Broth-Stocker

So I'm hoping that you guys didn't hop on my tip about Wallgreens 19 cent broth because now Walmart has that broth on sale for 49 cents. 9 cent broth after your 40 cents off coupon from 12/7.

A Few Razor Deals

There are a few Bic razor coupons about to expire that I hadn't used yet, so I took them to Wal-Mart just to see. I got a good Bic Soleil razor for $1.44 and a 4-pack refill for $1.44. The razor came with a $1 off coupon inside for my next one! Not too shabby for a razor!!

Also, Walgreens has their Shick Quattro (did I spell that right?) razors on sale for $6.99, use the $3 off coupon in the monthly pamphlet AND the manufacturor's coupon for $2 off and you get two good razors (one each for men and women) for $1.99 each. I'm not an expert, but I walked out of there only paying $7 for two great razors and toothpaste. I was thrilled. Sorry to tell about this so late though, the sale ends tomorrow.

Albertsons will redeem coupons from any store

Sorry if you aready knew this, but I just found this out today, and it was great news for me. So in case you didn't know... Albertsons will accept coupons from any store.

Today, I went to Smith's to buy the yeast for $0.55 (on sale for $1.00, and then used the $0.55 off coupon). When I bought the yeast, 6 catalina's printed for $0.50 each off my next order. I then went to Albertson's to buy the Loreal Kids Shampoo and used 6 $1.00 off coupons, along with the Smith's $0.50 off coupons and it ended up costing me $3.68 for 6 bottles of Loreal Kids 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner. Sweet deal.

Amazon

I'm sure all of you get the PYP newsletter--that's where I found out about these great deals going on now at Amazon. Go to amazon.com, click on the toys, kids, and baby section on the left side, then toys & games and find fabulous deals! You can get some pretty great things for under $10, under $25, 75% off, etc. If you've already got your Christmas shopping done, THINK BIRHTDAYS! Not only for your family, but friends and kids' friends as well! For example, for those of you with older children than mine (3,2, and 1) this rubiks revolution toy is only $5.99 and it's normally $20. What a fun toy to get for a child's birthday, a child's friend's birthday, a stocking stuffer, etc. There are plenty of other great deals to choose from. Oh and let's not forget: FREE SHIPPING on all orders over $25!! I did alot of my Christmas shopping from Amazon and saved alot of money plus over $100 in free shipping! Some things I bought on Amazon were actually shipped for free FROM Target and at Target they were listed at over $20 what I paid! Check it out! Happy Shopping!!!

Mitchum's deodorant 12/07-12/13 Walgreen's

Well, not that you wanted to know what kind of deodorant we use in our house - sorry for TMI! :) However, it's a great deal, so in case you do use this brand, here you go...

Walgreen's has Mitchum's antiperspirant/deodorant on sale for $1.99. And then there is a printable coupon (group a or b, not sure) for $1.00 off any Mitchum's product, bringing it to $0.99 for deodorant.

And I'm in the game!

Hello, my name is Ashley and I'm a coupon-aholic. I'm so excited about the deals I found at Wallgreens this week. In their Sunday ad they have a coupon for .59 cans of Swanson chicken broth. In the Super Saver from this Sundays paper there is a coupon for .40 off! .19 cents people!

Also, they have Reynolds tin foil on sale for .99 and there was a coupon awhile back for 1.00 off. Katie, what week was that? Wallgreens says "Will you please take our tin foil and a penny?". Wallgreens loves us.

Free Scotch Tape (Mail in Rebate) 12/07 - 12/13

even though it's free through a MIR, it's still free. Anyways, I thought it was worth the post b/c with Christmas coming up, and wrapping presents, etc...free is always a good deal. The tape is on sale at Walgreens for $1.00. And the MIR is $2/2. (you get the MIR form from Walgreens monthly catalogue, which you can pick up in the store)

$12.99 Christmas Classics at Costco

I bought this DVD box set at Costco for $12.99 (normally $22.99). The sale ends tomorrow, Dec 7th. This is, by far, the cheapest I've found the set.

Coupon Insert schedule

Supposedly, there are no coupon inserts scheduled to be in the Sunday papers on either Dec 21st or Dec 28th. If that is the case, you may want to cancel your Sunday papers (to save a bit of $$) for those two days.

HOWEVER, please make note that this schedule may not be 100% accurate. The same schedule also said there were not supposed to be any coupons on the 11/30/08 paper, but the P&G insert was actually in there. (I checked three different websites and they all had this same schedule...)

12/07/08 - SS / RP / P&G
12/14/08 - SS / RP
12/21/08 - No Inserts (Christmas)
12/28/08 - No Inserts (New Year's)
